BARES Electricity Generation Inc was established in year 2000 to operate
in the electricity generation field.
BARES continued the wind measurement works at Balıkesir and Bursa
regions after its establishment . The company has built Turkey’s first
privately owned and currently the biggest wind farm Bandırma WEPP (also
known as BARES II). With an installed capacity of 30MW and an average
annual generation of 120 million kWh, Bandırma WEPP is under operation
since by the end of May 2006. The generated energy is being sold to free
energy market and 3rd party wholesale companies.
The company applied to the Ministry of Energy in 2000 to implement the
biggest WEP project in ’’auto-producer’’ status. When the BALIKESIR
BARES WEP project, which is situated within the borders of
Balıkesir-Kepsut province with a capacity of 165 MW, is realized, an
annual electricity of 504.000.000 kWh will be generated. Rights for the
connection to the grid and other permissions have already been obtained.
BARES Inc. has applied to EMRA to obtain the necessary generation
