Soma Wind Energy Power Plant

Based on the wind measurements executed since 1998, Soma WEPP is realized in Manisa province of Turkey and consists of two sections. The west side of the project is located in the north of Soma town of Manisa and has an installed capacity of 84 MW with 32 wind turbines. The east part of the project is located in the north of Kırkağaç town of Manisa with 14 wind turbines having a total power of 36 MW. Although the project was constructed on a tough topography, the complete project was finished in 9 months and under operation since August 2010. Soma WEPP has a production of 473.000.000 kWh and reduces 280.886,32 tonnes of carbon emission annually.
